Jury Selection Begins Today in Kohli Trial

Jury selection was slated to begin Monday in the trial of Effingham doctor Naeem Kohli.

Kohli was indicted by a Federal grand jury on 15 counts alleging defrauding of health care benefit programs including Medicaid and Medicare, illegal sale of controlled substances, and money laundering.

Kohli's trial is to begin Monday, January 5 in US District Court in Benton. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison on the fraud charges, 20 years on the narcotics charges, and 10 years on the money laundering counts.
