Effingham resident Jacob Roderick has been sentenced to two years in prison.

The 32-year-old Roderick was sentenced on felony counts of theft, forgery and criminal trespass to residence. A separate felony case against Roderick charging forgery was dismissed as part of Tuesday's proceedings. Roderick agreed to make restitution payments in the matter.

Assistant State's Attorney Scott Ealy had sought a six-year prison term for Roderick, while Public Defender Scott Schmidt had sought a TASC probation order.

Roderick had been out on bond over the past year while participating in the county's Problem Solving Court Program, in which he was unsuccessful.
