The death of a former Effingham woman was due to natural causes, not due to a crash in which her vehicle was involved.

88-year-old Marjorie Stark was found dead at the scene of a crash in which her vehicle ran off a street in Charleston Tuesday and struck a tree. Coles County Coroner Ed Schniers said Stark had a cardiac incident while driving. Schniers said there was no real trauma to the body as a result of the crash.

Charleston police are continuing their investigation into the incident.

Marge Stark was the widow of Rev. Russell Stark, former pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Effingham.

Funeral arrangements can be found on the obituaries page of the website.
