Despite a deficit of more than 167,500 votes, current Illinois Governor Pat Quinn isn't conceding the election to Bruce Rauner.

Rauner claimed victory in the race Tuesday evening, telling supporters, “this is your victory. This is a victory for every family in Illinois”.

Quinn is hanging on to hope that ballots that have yet to be counted will swing the election in his favor. Quinn told supporters at a rally late Tuesday night, "we won an election four years ago, and in that election, there were a lot of votes that weren't counted on election night, they had to be counted the next couple of days."
