UPDATE: Local Woman Injured in Crash

A local woman was injured in a crash Thursday night in Effingham.

The crash occurred at 9:27pm at Henrietta and Jefferson. Effingham city police say a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Keith Peters of Vandalia pulled into the path of, and was struck by, a vehicle driven by 52-year-old Kathy Thomas of Effingham.

A report from city police indicated that Thomas was injured and was taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, but Kathy Thomas phoned our newsroom this afternoon to say that she did not go for treatment.

Peters was cited for failure to yield and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
