Two Crashes w/Injuries in Effingham Over Weekend

Two crashes involving injuries occurred in Effingham over the weekend.

One crash occurred just before 5pm Friday north of the intersection of Keller Drive and Hampton Drive. City police say an unknown vehicle rear-ended a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Michael Reynolds of Effingham and then left the scene. 

Reynolds' passenger, 40-year-old Amy Reynolds of Effingham was injured and was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Citations are pending as the investigation into the crash continues.

The other crash with injuries occurred at 1:35pm Saturday at the intersection of Fayette Avenue and Maple Street. City police say a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Joshua Buening of Charleston struck a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Christina Royse of Effingham. 

Royse was injured and was taken by private vehicle to St. Anthony's. Buening was cited for disobeying a traffic control device, while Royse was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
