A Teutopolis man was injured when his motorcycle rear-ended a car on Keller Drive Wednesday afternoon.

Effingham city police say the crash occurred at 1pm when a car driven by 22-year-old Thomas Saunders of Effingham turned left out Midtown Drive onto northbound Keller, into the path of the motorcycle operated by 45-year-old Gerard Kingery of Teutopolis. Police said there was a vehicle in the other northbound lane, so Kingery tried to lay down the motorcycle but couldn't avoid striking the rear of the turning vehicle.

Kingery was injured and was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Saunders was cited for failure to yield.
