Cumberland school board members took action on several personnel items at this month's meeting.

The Board hired Erin St. John as a part-time office secretary, accepted the resignation of Madelyn Black as a bus driver, and accepted the resignation of Debbie Edwards as a bus driver. The Board then made available the position of bus aide.

Board members also approved Monte Wolke and Jaton McMechan as assistant high school boys basketball coaches with the two sharing the stipend, employed Whitney Edwards as middle school head girls track coach, accepted the resignation of Lisa Rogers as a special education aide as of the end of 2014, and accepted Joan Willenborg's irrevocable letter to retire as of the end of the school year.

Cumberland board members also passed the budget for the coming fiscal year, heard that Karli Isley, Macey Maxey and Adrianna Baker have participated in the Section Horse Career Development event and finished second overall with Isley second, Maxey seventh and Baker 10th; and heard that the Forestry Team participated in the District Invitational at Monticello and finished fourth of 21 teams. Team members were A.J. Baugher, Josie Brockett, Macey Craig, Kendra Flood and Hailey Oakley.
