Crash at 3rd and Rickelman Injures Two

A crash north of the intersection of 3rd and Rickelman Friday evening injured two people.

The crash occurred just before 6pm when a vehicle driven by 55-year-old Charles Friedrich, Jr. of Boonville, Indiana attempted to pass a vehicle behind another vehicle driven by 63-year-old Dale Blum of Memphis, Tennessee. Friedrich's vehicle struck Blum's vehicle as Blum attempted a left turn. 

Blum and a passenger in Friedrich's vehicle, 46-year-old Tracy Marx of Newburgh, Indiana, were injured and were taken by ambulance to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Friedrich was cited for improper lane usage and operating a vehicle with an unexpired registration sticker.
