Effingham resident Albert Church has been found guilty of delivery of a controlled substance.

The 23-year-old Church was found guilty by Judge Allan Lolie Monday under an accountability theory. The judge said Church told Jessica James of Effingham that Jay Miller of Altamont could supply her with heroin while knowing she wanted to buy the drugs, and Church's action helped facilitate the crime.

The charge is a felony punishable by up to three to seven years in prison, but probation is also an option.

Judge Lolie set a sentencing hearing for 1pm on November 12.

Miller was earlier found guilty by an Effingham County jury of drug induced homicide in James' death and was sentenced to 17 years in prison.
