Rainfall and warm temperatures continued throughout the state last week.

A few cases of Sudden Death Syndrome in soybeans were reported in some parts of Illinois.

There were 4.4 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending September 7. Statewide, precipitation averaged 1.25 inches, 0.67 inches above normal. The average temperature was 72.7 degrees, 1.7 degrees above normal.

Corn dented reached 84%, compared to the five-year average of 78%. Corn mature reached 17%, compared to the five-year average of 36%. Corn condition was rated at 82% good to excellent.

Soybeans dropping leaves was rated at 7%, compared to the five-year average of 11%. Soybeans turning color reached 37%, compared to the five-year average of 34%. Soybean condition was rated at 78% good to excellent.

Sorghum headed reached 94%, sorghum turning color reached 77%, and sorghum mature was rated at 20%.

Pasture condition was rated at 2% very poor, 6% poor, 24% fair, 49% good, and 19% excellent. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 1% very short, 7% short, 82% adequate and 10% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated at 1% very short, 15% short, 79% adequate, and 5% surplus.
