Flooding in Fayette County

Heavy rainfall left inches of precipitation in the area overnight, and a flood warning in Fayette County.

Huge rainfall totals were received from listeners this morning, including almost eight inches near St. Peter. We also had a report of six inches south of Altamont and five inches south of Dieterich.

The National Weather Service reported Hickory Creek at Bluff City was up eight feet in a two-hour period around 6am today to 12 feet and it was expected to hit flood stage of 14 feet today.

Hurricane Creek near Mulberry Grove was up five feet to just over eight feet. 13 feet is flood stage.
