Charges are expected to be filed Tuesday in the armed robbery of the Effingham Econolodge earlier this month.

Local authorities have been investigating whether 24-year-old Nicholas Jackson and 21-year-old Zachary Sapp are connected to the holdup. Jackson and Sapp have already been arrested in Coles County for the armed robbery of Casey's General Store in Mattoon earlier this month, and for home invasion for allegedly entering a home in Mattoon while armed with a gun and tying up the family inside the home in March of this year.

Effingham County Assistant State's Attorney Scott Ealy said a report on the Econolodge holdup was received from investigators on Friday.

Meanwhile, Jackson and Sapp were in court in Coles County on Monday on the charges on file there, and are next due in court next Tuesday, September 2.
