State Climatologist Jim Angel says the latest long-range forecast shows that a repeat of last winter's snowy conditions is not expected.

Angel said the forecast right now is calling for below average precipitation in Illinois. There are equal chances for above, below and near average temperatures.

Angel warns that it is still early for a winter forecast, so things could change.

The forecast for September and the fall is calling for equal chances of above, below and average temperatures and precipitation.
