Cumberland Fair Underway Today

The 2014 Cumberland County Fair gets underway tonight with a new feature.

An event known as Cumberland County's Got Talent will begin at 7pm in front of the grandstand in Greenup.

On Saturday night, the Cumberland County Junior Miss Queen Pageant and Pre-Teen Pageant will begin at 7pm.

Sunday is the first full day of activities. Dairy Cattle and junior livestock Swine will be judged starting at 8am. A junior horse and pony show will start at 10am featuring pony halter, horse halter, Cumberland County halter, walk/trot, pony western pleasure, horse western pleasure, Cumberland County western pleasure, trail class, pony barrels, horse barrels, poles and beginning reining classes will all be featured. An extreme cowboy race will conclude the event. There will also be free Christian music concert Sunday at 6:30pm including a Southern Range Cowboy Church Service with no gate fee charged. "Redemption 1:7" will follow live in concert at 7:30pm.

Monday, August 18:

--judging sheep and beef cattle judging at 8am, Illinois Thoroughbred Races and Quarter Horse Races at 1:30pm with motorcycle, car and kids stick horse races daily between races, Cumberland County Queen Pageant and Little Miss Pageant at 7pm

Tuesday, August 19:

--daily cattle judging at 8am, harness races at 1:30pm, Kids Pedal Tractor Pull in front of the grandstands at 5:30pm, Illiana truck and tractor pull action at 7pm

Wednesday, August 20:

--harness races at 1:30pm, C Bar Rodeo at 7pm with a special feature, Dusti Crain trick riding, and a barnyard scramble at 8pm

Thursday, August 21:

--Farmers Meeting and Breakfast at 7am, antique tractor show at 8am, harness racing at noon, country show Neal McCoy in concert with special guest Madison Bolin at 7pm

Friday, August 22:

--harness racing at 1:30pm, Kids Pedal Tractor Pull in front of the grandstands at 5:30pm, Brush Pullers Tractor Pull at 7pm

Saturday, August 23:

--Antique Tractor and Implement Show and Pedal Tractor Show at 8am, Pony, Horse and Mule Races, and Thoroughbred Races at 1:30pm including the Cumberland County Derby and Pig Scramble, Cumberland County Fair Demolition Derby at 6:30pm with registration from 4 to 5pm.
