Rain put a damper on the State Fair festivities for the first couple of days, but officials say attendance is still holding steady.

More than 372,000 people had visited the fair as of Wednesday. That's down slightly compared to the same time last year, but officials are confident the fair will end on a high note. They say weather and a few big ticket concerts should draw in large crowds.

Today is Kids Day at the fair.

Highlights include:

--ponytail and pigtail contest, 11am, The Shed

--Junior Dairy Show (Jersey), 1pm, Junior Liivestock Building

--Society Horse Show (Morgans/Arabians/Walking Horses/Fox Trotters/Paso Fino), 1pm and 7pm, Coliseum

--Decorated Diaper Contest, 3pm, Lincoln Stage

--Diaper Derby Contest, 4pm, Lincoln Stage

--Compact Figure 8 Boat Show, 7pm, Arena

--An Evening with Steely Dan, 8pm, Grandstand

The fair concludes Sunday in Springfield.
