Members of the Effingham Water Authority heard plans for the area around Effingham Beach at Lake Sara at this week's meeting.

Tom Ryan gave a report on his recent presentation to the Good Neighbors of Lake Sara on the park and recreation plans for the area around the beach.

The Water Authority also directed its attorney Tony Siemer to contact the Keller family regarding the condition of their boat house and dock, and heard from Lake Superintendent Mike Dirks that the property adjoining Lot 2 Safety Harbor has been cleaned and signs removed.

The Water Authority awarded a bid to Larry Heuerman for oiling roads around the lake, and awarded a bid to Patton Printing and Graphics for just under $1,000 for printing materials needed for 2015 boat licenses.

The Water Authority heard from Brian Larson, owner of The Marina, that he needs to repair a hole at the end of the boat ramp with rip rap. The Dive Rescue Team has agreed to assist him with the repair the third weekend in September, after Labor Day when boating season will be winding down.
