Armed Robbery at Econolodge in Effingham Early Tuesday Morning

Effingham's Econolodge was the scene of an armed robbery early Tuesday morning.

Effingham City Police report that an unknown white male entered the Econolodge, lcoated at 1412 West Fayette Avenue at about 1:56am, displaying a weapon.

The employee at the desk exited the rear of the building as the subject entered the front. An undetermined amount of cash was stolen from the register. No one was injured during the incident.

Police say the suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5' 08" and 160 lbs, with a thin build. He was reportedly wearing a black ski mask and short sleeved shirt.
