Crash Outside Effingham Results in Injury

A Vancouver, Washington woman was injured in a crash just before 8:30 Friday night outside Effingham.

State police say 46-year-old Veronica Johnson was in the left lane of I-70 ready to exit onto I-57 northbound when a semi driven by 45-year-old Mustafa Jillo of Grand Rapids, Michigan decided to exit, too and changed lanes, striking the Johnson vehicle.

Johnson was injured and was taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment. Jillo was cited for improper lane usage.
