Effingham resident David Wyckoff was found guilty Wednesday in a stipulated bench trial of actions against a woman last September.

Judge Kimberly Koester found the 22-year-old Wyckoff guilty of counts of aggravated battery and aggravated domestic battery. Both are felony counts, but probation is also an option in both counts.

Wyckoff had originally been charged with aggravated domestic battery, but a grand jury later indicted him on a variety of counts including attempted murder and aggravated criminal sexual assault. Later, the prosection dropped all of the grand jury counts, but retained the two battery counts and Wyckoff agreed for a judge rather than a jury to hear his case.

Wyckoff's sentencing hearing is set for September 30.
