Fire damaged an abandoned home in Dieterich early Wednesday.

Dieterich firefighters were called to the structure at 414 East Section at 12:07am. The cause is still being determined. No one was injured.

Firefighters cleared the scene at 5:47am, but were called back out at 6:25am due to a rekindle of the fire. The rekindle was extinguished within 10 minutes of arrival.

Dieterich firefighters were assisted by fire companies from Crooked Creek, Watson, Montrose, Teutopolis, Effingham, Shumway and Sigel.
