Several Crashes w/Injuries Over Weekend

There were several crashes with injuries in the area over the weekend.

Just before midnight Friday night, a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Justin Lagrand of Effingham rear-ended a vehicle driven by 16-year-old Dawn McGuire of Watson at Jaycee and Raney in Effingham. 

City police say Lagrand was injured, but refused treatment. He was cited for defective brakes.

A single vehicle crash left a Ste. Marie man injured Saturday morning.

The crash occurred at 7:44am in a rural area 1-1/2 miles southwest of Ste. Marie. 38-year-old Christopher Huber was traveling on Jasper County Road 500 North when his vehicle veered to the right, left the roadway and went into the ditch. The vehicle then overcorrected and traveled back onto the roadway before overturning.

Huber was injured and was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Vehicles driven by 28-year-old Amy Tatham of Sedalia, Missouri and 48-year-old Jody Williamson of Park Ridge collided at 1210 North Keller Drive just before 6pm Sunday.

Williamson was injured and was transported by ambulance to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Tatham was cited for failure to yield.
