US 40 between Effingham and Teutopolis was closed to traffic for about an hour Monday morning following a crash involving a Rides Mass Transit bus and a SUV.

The collision occurred in front of Brumleve Industries about 8am. The bus was transporting consumers of ARC Community Support Systems to Teutopolis. Andy Kistler with ARC let us know that none of the 10 ARC passengers in the bus were injured.

State police say the SUV driven by 78-year-old Raoul Leon Barnes of Teutopolis was westbound when it crossed the centerline and struck the bus, ending up over on its side in a ditch. Barnes and the driver of the bus, 54-year-old Georgianna Hector of Montrose, were injured and both were taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

Arrest information in the crash is pending.
