After the Bury Ray Zore event in May and after three episodes of the Kangaroo Court earlier this month, not to mention the kickoff of the First Lady fundaising effort, it's finally time for the Teutopolis Terquasquicentennial Celebration, as the community celebrates its 175th anniversary.

"Celebrating 175 years of Faith, Family and Community" is the theme for the celebration.

Things get started Saturday with an outdoor Mass to be celebrated by Bishop Thomas John Paprocki at 4pm on the Society Hall ball diamond. A dinner/dance is planned from 6pm to midnight in the Knights of Columbus Banquet Room. A highlight will be the crowning of the Teutopolis First Lady.

Bands "Flight Fifty" and "Friction" will perform outside on the KC Hall grounds; "Flight Fifty" from 6:30-8:30pm and "Friction" from 9pm to midnight.

Actitivities will continue Sunday with a car show from 9am to noon, a kids wiffle ball tournament at 1pm, and music by the band "Kidd Kadillac" from 6-9pm. The car show features registration at 9am and judging at 2:30pm on the KC Hall grounds. The band will also perform on the KC Hall grounds. The wiffle ball tournament will take place on the KC ball diamond.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of the coming week will feature performances of the Terquasquicentennial Play on the Society Hall ball diamond. Performances are scheduled at 7pm nightly. On Wednesday, there will also be Kids Games for those ages 6 to 12 in the Mini Park from 6-8pm, and music by "Thunder Road' behind the grade school from 8-11pm.

There will also be activities on Thursday and then full day activities on Friday, Saturday and Sunday including fireworks displays each night. We'll tell you more later in the week.
