Pulling will be the order of the evening at the Effingham County Fair tonight.

The Hasting's Filters Truck, Tractor and Garden Tractor Pull starts at 6:30pm in front of the grandstand at Altamont.

Admission tonight is $12 for the infield and $8 for the grandstand.

This should also be the night for the opening of the carnival.  The carnival was supposed to be in place for the opening of the fair Friday night, but carnival officials phoned the Fair the day before the scheduled opening to say they wouldn't be there as promised.

Big Ten harness racing is set for today.  Post Time is 1pm.  If you can't be there, listen to the horse racing card live on KJ Country 102.3.  The horse races will be on KJ Country all this week; 1pm each day through Thursday for harness racing, noon on Friday for thoroughbred and quarter horse racing.

The judging schedule today: 7:45am--Class A beef cattle and Class H beef cattle; Class F sheep; and Class H swine (carcass class)...8am--Class H poultry and waterfowl and pigeons and doves...12:30pm--Class H sheep

A reminder that you can hear the results of 4-H judging each morning at 8:45am with Rachelle Hollinshead of Effingham County Extension on KJ Country 102.3.

The fair runs through Saturday at Altamont.
