The Illinois High School Rodeo Association State Finals for 2014 got underway Wednesday evening with a parade through downtown Effingham and then a cookout, music and cowboy re-enactors.

The rains held off, allowing things to go off without a hitch, other than the train that delayed the parade's procession into the downtown area.
