Initiative Underway to Aid Emergency Workers w/Post-Traumatic Stress

An effort is underway to assist area emergency service providers and law enforcement personnel with post-traumatic stress.

A meeting is scheduled for 10am Wednesday at Catholic Charities.

Altamont Fire Chief Jon Becker said the initiative is designed to assist firefighters, police officers, sheriff's deputies, emergency medical technicians and others in trauma care, telecommunicators; anyone involved in emergency assistance. Becker said any chaplain groups involved in providing care to those in emergency services are also invited to attend Wednesday's meeting. He said the goal is to implement an ongoing plan.
