Effingham Woman Injured in Crash at Fayette and Maple

An Effingham woman was injured in a crash at Fayette and Maple Wednesday morning.

City police report a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Sheri Probst of Dieterich pulled in front of, and was struck by, a vehicle driven by 91-year-old Daphne Fearday of Effingham.  The crash was reported at 10:22am.

Fearday was injured and was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.  Probst was cited for disobeying a traffic control device.

City police are also investigating a residential burglary Wednesday afternoon.

The burglary occurred at a property in the 300 block of West Elm between 2pm and 6:15pm.  It hasn't been determined whether anything is missing.
