Police Investigating Series of Incidents at Quality Inn

Criminal damage was done to six vehicles parked at Quality Inn at 1304 West Evergreen in Effingham between 1:30am and 2:30am Saturday. Damage estimates are still being compiled.

Damage was done to the back rear window on a vehicle owned by Barbara Faris of North Olmstead, Ohio...to the driver's side front door and driver's side door skirting on a vehicle owned by Timothy Borntrager of Lawrence, Kansas...the hood and rear passenger tail light on a vehicle owned by Valerie Kaiser of Luna Pier, Michigan...the driver's side rear quarter panel, driver's side rear door and driver's side front door on a vehicle owned by Robert Mravca of Alsip...the hood and front windshield on a vehicle owned by Douglas Lesak of Sugar Grove...and the front windshield on a vehicle owned by Judd Shutt of Woodstock.

City police also are investigating an attempted burglary at an apartment in the 300th block of Greenview Avenue between 7:22pm and 8:22pm Saturday. No items appear to have been stolen. Entry was gained through the rear door, which sustained $50 in damage during the incident.
