An isolated thunderstorm knocked out power along the Effingham/Clay County line Sunday afternoon.

A strong burst of wind knocked power poles at enough of an angle to cause the power interruption. Effingham County Sheriff's Department summoned AmerenCIPS workers to make repairs and restore electric service.
