The State wants to pump more than $1 billion into fixing roads and bridges.

State representatives approved the spending Thursday.  The plan is to sell bonds to bring in the money to pay for the work, but opponents are complaining that there aren't any hard details on the total cost of the effort.

Supporters contend the initiative will put people to work.  They say those people will pay taxes and add money to the state's bank account.
