Effingham city police investigated a three-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon on the south end.

The collision was reported at 1:17pm north of the intersection of Banker Street and Jaycee Avenue.  Police say a vehicle driven by 36-year-old Karrie Davis of Edgewood rear-ended a vehicle driven by 63-year-old William Cowger, Jr. of Dieterich, causing Cowger's car to rear-end a vehicle driven by 50-year-old Roberto Sotelo of Bethany.

A passenger in Cowger's vehicle, 52-year-old Marie Cowger of Dieterich was injured in the crash.

Police cited Davis on counts of DUI, leaving the scene of the crash, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
