(MEMBERS OF THE HAROLD AND SUE HETH FAMILY, INCLUDING HAROLD AND SUE AT THE RIGHT, AT FRIDAY'S DRUG COURT GRADUATION WHERE THEY WERE PRESENTED WITH THE INAUGURAL "MARK HETH COMMUNITY COURAGE AWARD")

Among the highlights at the latest Effingham County Drug Court graduation ceremony was the inaugural presentation of an award to a local couple in memory of their son.

The "Mark Heth Community Courage Award" was presented to the Harold and Sue Heth family of rural Shumway.  Following the death of Mark Heth in February at age 23, the Heth family spoke openly and lovingly in the community of Mark's struggles with schizophrenia and related mental health issues.

Sue Heth spoke on behalf of her family Friday after accepting the Effingham Area Mental Health Court's "Community Courage Award"...

The "Mark Heth Community Courage Award" will be handed out annually by the Heth family in Effingham County in the years to come.

Friday's graduates from Effingham Area Drug Court are Ryan French, William Knight, Jacqueline Lustig, Kathryn Mosely, Lance Priess and Linda Wood.
