The Teutopolis Board of Education was set to consider a motion Monday night to make budget cuts for next school year and to vote on a contract with district support staff personnel.

Neither happened.

The Board discussed a list of extra-curricular items to consider to eliminate for next year, however, no action was taken.

The Board also met in closed session on personnel and collective bargaining matters, but there was no vote on a contract and no action on pay rates for district personnel not a part of a union.  There was a vote to approve a three-day extension of contract for one year only for Janice Ochs to do work with the D.O. Program.

Also at Teutopolis, the Board approved Melissa Cowman as the junior high cheer sponsor, Laurie Drees and Natasha Rauch as grade school Summer School teachers for Grades 1 and 2, and Kari McManaway for the Summer Book Club Program, and agreed to advertise for a half-time Special Education teacher.

Board members approved changes in the parent/student handbook for the coming school year, including information on concealed carry, e-cigarettes, credit for P.E., the first grade grading scale, and prohibited substances.  Also approved was an intergovernmental agreement for Kent Probst's time with the CEO class next school year, an agreement for audit services for the district, a resolution concerning the funds that will come to the Teutopolis school district due to the small amount of the district in Shelby County and Shelby County's recent passage of a sales tax hike, and award of a bid to do roof work at the high school building utilizing $50,000 in state maintenance grant funds.
