Becky Bailey and Paula Miller were recognized for employment milestones by the Effingham County Board Monday.

Bailey was given a huge round of applause when she was honored for 50 years of service.  Becky was hired by then-County Superintendent of Schools Lowell Lewis in 1964.  When the state made the switch to Regional Offices of Education, Bailey stayed as Jim Staff of Bond County was elected the first Regional Superintendent.  Staff was succeeded by Delbert Maroon and he was followed by Mark Drone who was then succeeded by current Superintendent Julie Wollerman.  Bailey has been the one constant, though.

Searching for the proper gift to recognize such a milestone, the County found Bailey a deluxe nameplate for her desk, since she isn't planning on leaving just yet.

Miller got recognition for her 25-year milestone, all spent working in the County Treasuer's Office, originally for Alma Croft and then for Joe Green and for the past almost 16 years for Steve Dasenbrock.
