One woman was killed and three other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash northwest of Effingham Thursday morning.
57-year-old Lois Miller of Shelbyville was killed in a crash at 10:50am on Illinois 32, two miles south of the Effingham-Shelby County line.
State police report Miller was stopped to turn off the highway and was waiting on a road oiling crewmember to move some cones when her car was rear-ended by a pickup truck. Effingham County Deputy Coroner Tanya Overbeck pronounced Miller dead at the scene at 11:30am.
The driver of the pickup truck, 51-year-old David Mars of Shelbyville, was injured as was his passenger, 23-year-old David Mars, Jr. of Shelbyville. Both were taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment. Miller's passenger, 72-year-old Norma Webb of Shumway, was also injured and was taken to Carle Hospital in Urbana for treatment.
Illinois State Police and the Effingham County Coroner's Office are continuing their investigation into the crash.
