The Teutopolis Education Association and the Teutopolis Board of Education have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract for the district's teachers.

No details of the agreement will be released until ratification votes take place.

As a result of the tentative agreement, school will be in session Friday in Teutopolis, as usual.

Teutopolis Education Assocaition Co-President Amy Oseland said talks lasted about two hours before the tentative agreement was reached.  Oseland said teachers will vote on the agreement probably on Wednesday.

Teachers had announced before Monday night's school board meeting that a strike would begin Friday if a tentative contract agreement was not in place.
