Bulldogs Girls Suffer First Loss

CHAMPAIGN -- Defending state champion Normal University-High handed the Effingham St. Anthony girls golf team its first loss of the season 173-182 with Champaign St. Thomas More scoring 230 at Stone Creek Golf Course in Champaign Monday.

Normal's Sheinnera Gerongay captured medalist honors with a 40. St. Anthony's Mariah Bushue took second with a 41 and teammate Miranda Rohlfing was third with a 42. Madison Bushue captured sixth with a 49 and Emmie Schultz was eighth with a 50.

The Bulldogs are back in action Wednesday at Charleston against the homestanders and Mattoon.
